Why book a suite on a cruise?
On most cruise lines, non-suite rooms are anywhere from 130 sq. ft. to 295 sq. ft. Suite rooms are generally 400+ sq. ft. and can be as large as 1000+ sq. ft.

First, let’s look at the size of the room. On most cruise lines, non-suite rooms are anywhere from 130 sq. ft. to 295 sq. ft. Suite rooms are generally 400+ sq. ft. and can be as large as 1000+ sq. ft. This means that the bathroom will be larger as well. More room to sleep, move around, and get ready for your day/evening. What you are thinking now is “but I was not planning on being in the room that much. There is the pool, the bars, the clubs and lounges.” This is where we look at suite perks. These are the benefits that come with booking a suite. These are benefits like: on/off/tendering, dining, special lounge access, room service, shows and other access, general suite room amenities, and concierge services. Let’s look a little deeper into each of the benefits.

On/Off/Tendering

Suite guests enjoy priority embarkation, disembarking, and tendering. I don’t know about you, but when I am ready to start my vacation….make way! Suite guests get special check-in windows and are among the first allowed onto the ship when it is ready. During the cruise, when you are anchored in the water and must take a tender ship to the dock, suite guests are ushered to the front of the line. When your cruise has ended, suite guests do not have to wait among the masses. They enjoy a special lounge and are given priority to leave the ship whenever they desire.

Dining

Depending on the cruise line and the tier of suite, you might enjoy free specialty dining. If that is not included on your particular class of suite or line, you will have first priority for your dining time.

Special Lounge Access

Most cruise lines have a dedicated lounge that can only be accessed by suite guests. This usually includes a Happy Hour which includes nibbles and drinks before dinner. There is also usually a coffee machine which makes lattes and espressos.

Room Service

Generally free for suite guests.

Show and Other Access

Most cruise lines have a roped area in the ship’s theaters for suite guests. Not only is it primo seating but you do not have to arrive to the show super early. Most cruise lines also offer a dedicated sun deck for their suite guests. No fighting for chairs by the pool and no being in the splash zone! On private islands, the suite guests enjoy a private beach area away from the crowd.

General Suite Room Amenities

Your suite room attendant generally has fewer rooms to attend and can give yours special attention. This means that you go to breakfast and when you return, your room is made up and clean. The sheets and pillows are higher quality in a suite and, therefore, more comfortable. The towels in the bathroom are fluffier, and no matter what you say or do, they are changed out twice a day. Shampoo, conditioners, and soaps are also of a higher quality.

Concierge Services

There is a dedicated person…the concierge…who is at the disposal of the suite guest. They arrange dinner reservations, assist with excursions if needed, help with any issues that arise, and are just generally there for you! No waiting at customer service! Your vacation is your time away. It is a time to de-stress. It is a time to relax, have fun, maybe try something new. Why not book a suite and be pampered? Your time and enjoyment are worth it. YOU are worth it! Let us plan your next Dream Vacation.
